Caught Being Caring
Happy October, AES families! We’re excited to share a new program developed by the Avondale counseling department: Caught Being Caring, a schoolwide recognition program centered around our IB Learner Profile attribute of Caring.
Throughout AES, we want to be intentional about noticing and celebrating the everyday moments of kindness, respect, inclusion, and caring that help make our school a welcoming and connected community. When a staff member “catches” a student or fellow staff member demonstrating caring, they can submit a quick Caught Being Caring shoutout. Students and staff who are caught being caring will be celebrated on our morning P0d Cast and afternoon announcements, with additional opportunities for recognition coming soon!
Our goal is simple: the more we notice and celebrate caring, the more we encourage it. By recognizing the big and small ways our students and staff care for one another, we hope to continue building a school where everyone feels valued, respected, connected, and included.
We can’t wait to see our Avondale community get Caught Being Caring!
