Read Across America Week, March 3 – March 6

Avondale will celebrate Read Across America Week, March 3 – March 6. This week aims to inspire individuals of all ages to read, and coincides with Dr. Seuss’s birthday on March 2nd. As you know, Dr. Seuss was a famous author who wrote many children’s books. During Read Across America Week, we will celebrate reading with the following spirit days:

  • Monday (3/3) – Team Up for Reading! Wear your favorite sports jersey or team colors!
  • Tuesday (3/4) – Hats Off to Reading! Wear your favorite hat!
  • Wednesday (3/5) – Reading JOGS the Mind! Wear your favorite exercise gear!
  • Thursday (3/6) – Wild About Reading! Wear your AES spirit shirts, school colors (blue & yellow), or your favorite animal print!
  • Friday (3/7) – Independent Learner Day (No School)

Participation in the Read Across America spirit week is optional, but encouraged! Student attire should still align with the Dekalb County Schools dress code policy, including closed-toed shoes for recess, and be appropriate for the season / weather.
